Need an Official Record?
Use the record type to choose the New York County office that can answer the request:
- Court case files: use the criminal court case records routes, then contact the clerk of the original court for copies or a certificate of disposition
- Police and arrest reports: use NYPD's routine record channel or submit a FOIL request through NYC OpenRecords
- City booking and custody records: use the NYC Department of Correction Person in Custody Lookup or call 311 for routing
- Personal state rap sheets: request a fingerprint-based Personal Record Review from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services
- Pending court appearances: search WebCrims and confirm the part and date with the appropriate Centre Street clerk
- Record sealing: file with the New York court that entered the disposition
